Dr. Gary Wheeler

Dr. Gary Wheeler is a Clinton School graduate from 2007 and is currently the Medical Director of Infectious Disease at the Arkansas Department of Health. In that position, Dr. Wheeler oversees the HIV, STI, tuberculosis, communicable disease and immunization sections of the Arkansas Department of Health, as well as the current Ebola preparedness efforts. He works on multiple levels to prevent and treat tobacco addiction, prevent childhood obesity and improve vaccine coverage for Arkansans. Dr. Wheeler will discuss the facts and myths of the Ebola virus and how it affects Arkansans, how the Arkansas Department of Health is preparing hospitals and health care providers and what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is doing to protect the United States.
