Kelly Sullivan Loughren

Kelly Sullivan Loughren is a granddaughter of Albert Leo Sullivan who was killed along with his three brothers Frank, Joseph and Madison in action on November 13, 1942 while serving on the Navy’s USS Juneau during the first Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II. The magnitude of the loss for the Sullivan family captured the sympathy of the country, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered a new Navy destroyer to be named for the "Fighting Sullivans." The brothers' motto "We Stick Together" is also the motto of the second ship named after the brothers, USS The Sullivans (DDG-68).
