Mary Frances Berry

Mary Frances Berry is a Civil Rights legend, acclaimed legal scholar and best-selling author. She served as chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in the 1990s and is past president of the Organization of American Historians, the primary professional organization for historians of the United States. The author of eight books, Berry’s most recent publication is My Face Is Black Is True: Callie House and the Struggle for Ex-Slave Reparations.
