Patrick Cook-Deegan

Patrick Cook-Deegan is a senior at Brown University a founder of Cycle for Schools, a nonprofit organization that encourages public service through adventure. In January 2006, Cook-Deegan biked more than 2,800 miles through Laos, Cambodia and Burma, raising more than $22,500, enough money for a school in Laos and two K-12 scholarships for girls in Cambodia. He has founded two more non-profits: Transform Abroad, which sends low-income high school students abroad to volunteer in a developing countries during the summer and Green Voyage, which aims to personalize climate change by telling the stories of those affected by global warming. Cook-Deegan currently serves as the Northeast regional director for the U.S. Campaign for Burma.
