Jim Miranda is a founding member of the Arkansas Friendship Coalition, an organization of civic and business leaders who believe illegal immigration is a federal issue and advocate against sweeping anti-immigration laws at the local level in Arkansas. A resident of Bella Vista, Miranda is an outspoken advocate for the rights of illegal immigrants in Northwest Arkansas. He fought against the creation of an Illegal Immigration Criminal Apprehension Task Force and works closely with the ACLU and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
