Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service, discusses his organization’s mission to make the federal government better through attracting talented individuals to public service. Citing the War on Terror and Hurricane Katrina, Stier calls for improvement in government infrastructure to address the challenges facing America. Stier says that Americans need to take a personal stake in government service and refer to government as “our government” rather than “the government.” Stier says the government does a poor job of attracting young professional talent and that needs to change.
