Date: 11/30/2006

In a public event hosted by the Clinton School, Rev. Jesse Jackson talks about the current racial environment in the United States. Specifically, he discusses current events including his views on comedian Michael “Kramer” Richard’s racist comments in public and the racial undertones of Hurricane Katrina. “Learning to live together meant that we had to unlearn how to live apart,” Jackson says. In his infamous rhetorical style, Jackson highlights the fact that America faces the fundamental challenge of “learning to live together,” and reminded the audience that “strong minds break strong chains.”
