Erin Ganju is the co-founder and CEO of Room to Read. She currently manages all day-to-day operations for the organization, overseeing the Programs, Development, Finance and Human Resource departments. Ganju is an experienced international business development professional, having worked most recently as Vice President, Business Development for Dejima, Inc. Her previous professional experience also includes having worked for two large, multinational companies: Unilever N.V. and Goldman Sachs. She has spent extensive time working overseas, particularly in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam. Ganju holds combined bachelor’s and master's degrees in International Relations and Economics from Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.

Room to Read co-founder and CEO Erin Ganju gives a lecture titled, "Scaling Social Good," about the efforts of her organization to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Room to Read works in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and to ensure girls have the skills and support needed to complete their secondary education. Since its founding in 2000, Room to Read has built more than 12,000 libraries and donated nearly $9.5 million in books for children to read across the world.
